About Hyderabad

Hyderabad is the capital city of Andhra Pradesh and is home to more than 6 million people, making it India's 5th largest metropolitan city.

Hyderabad is at the forefront of Indian business and commerce and represents the emerging information technology and biotechnology hub of India. As a result, many major indigenous and international companies such as Accenture, Microsoft, Oracle, Dell, Deloitte, IBM, HSBC, Tata, Amazon and Google have established significant operations in the city.

Hyderabad is also an important centre of learning and has eight universities, two medical colleges and over 200 engineering colleges in addition to several research institutions and laboratories. The city is also home to the Indian School of Business and the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research.

The city has recently opened a new state-of-the-art international airport, with the longest runway in the country to cater to high passenger and cargo transits. Major infrastructural improvements are underway with the development of an Outer Ring Road, the first phase of which will link the new airport with HiTech City and Gachi Bowli. A metro rail transit system is also planned.
